Visiting the Huntington
by Kay Quijada

In early May, some of our KTGC members went to the Pasadena area for a day visit to The Huntington Library & Botanical Gardens. The trip was sponsored by the Kensington Community Church. The weather was just right and the Spring flowers were wonderful to see. The highlights included seeing rare and unusual flowering events such as the strange-colored blooms of Puyas native to the high-altitude Andes Mountains of South America, and tall Echiums, called the "Tower of Jewels," from the Canary Islands located off the northwestern coast of Africa.
